A rare Scarlatti celebration in Venice: I Bassifondi bring to life Alessandro Scarlatti’s serenata “Clori, Lidia e Filli coi violini, leuto” — heard in its first modern performance — in the intimate Sale Apollinee. Presented within Musikàmera, in collaboration with CIDIM (Italy’s National Music Council) for the 300th anniversary of Scarlatti’s death.

Founded by lutenist and guitarist Simone Vallerotonda, I Bassifondi explore 17th–18th-century Italian repertoire for plucked strings — tiorba, baroque guitar, colascione — with continuo and percussion, combining source-based research with vivid, improvisatory performance.
