This is an unique performance of opera arias and ballet in a historic palace in Venice. Musicians and dancers wear 18th c. costumes and handicraft Venetian masks. Works by Mozart, Verdi, Rossini, Donizetti and Puccini are included in the programme.
Musicians, singers and dancers are all selected from the best Italian ensembles. Musica in Maschera has collaborated with Unesco and presented Venice at the Roman Carnival.
The concert takes place in the baroque Scuola Grande Dei Carmini, a jewel-box building with interiors by Tiepolo and Longhena. The venue is located close to the Grand Canal.
